PINUP BREAK!

I'm feeling a bit ill and last night I decided to do just a little lettering on Carl last night and then do something else for fun...



I've been enjoying pin-up drawings lately, particularly Vargas, so I figured I'd try it out. I think this is ok, but not great. The pose is awkward and my attempt to make her curvy backfired into boxy. Considering I spend my days retouching lassies at a men's magazine, I thought I'd have a better handle on the poses. WRONG. But drawing is always different, and this kind of drawing, doing what is basically a model shoot, is weird. Trying to work how someone would react to the camera rather than being in context of a story, trying to convey sex and personality. Hmm. I might keep doing these on the side till I get a nice one. I think I'll have to get some lingerie reference! Where are those Victoria secrets catalogs when you need one...
