CLS-PAGE 40-YES!!

Page 40!

Hey all! I was thinking it over, and, if I stay on a decent pace Carl's Large Story will be finished by the end of next year. If I go on a super awesome pace it'll be done next summer. I've no idea how long it will take to get into print after that (or what avenues I'll take to get it there). Exciting nonetheless...

So, this weekend Jill and I went to Vineland, NJ, my hometown. When I lived there I went to a little art school called the Barn Studio of Art on Thursday nights for about 5 years. Every year they have an outdoor art show for the students and the studio is open to the public. I hadn't been back in years and it all seemed the same. The bamboo forest was bigger. I wish I took pictures! The studio is a really weird building, a combo of a barn and a flower shop that were merged at some point (parts of the house, I believe, were brought to the current location on a flatbed truck). It's on an acre or so of land with a sweet pond and foliage everywhere. The place has been run solely ( with the help of volunteers) by Pat Witt. Pat's 80 now, but still sharp and making bad jokes, though she doesn't teach as much. The land around her is being knocked down for condos, so they are in the process of turning it into a foundation that will hopefully continue after she's gone. Always good to visit the Barn, next time I go I'll take pictures.
