Yeah, I appreciated the Watchmen nod.
Watchmen movie: hopelessly excited or hopelessly hopeless?
Excited until I re-read it recently.
Now I am hopeless!
That's why I'm not re-reading it until I've seen the movie, despite the temptation to do so!
Yeah. I spoiled it by enjoying the book so much!
Unfortunately (in a way) I enjoyed the book a lot too, and, as a result, I can remember a lot of it, even though it's been a couple of years since I read it last.
I'll try to take the tack that I do with the Harry Potter movies - consider the book and the movie as two different versions of the same general story, and judge each on its own merits, rather than compare the two. I hope that works!
